The Fairy Godmother Project

The following life story was written by a former single mother who has been blessed by two fairy godmothers.

"I can remember the day, just like it was yesterday. I wish that I could erase it from my memory."

"My youngest son was two, my daughter was three, my oldest son was five. My husband at the time walked out the door and backed out of the driveway and was gone. I could hear the rattle of his old Chevy for what seemed like hours. I went into my bedroom, laid down, and cried and wondered how would I ever take care of these three small children? How would I find the will to keep on living?"

"Ah, but then, I had a blessing come my way! I had two fairy godmothers come into my life. They would come and whisk my children away every now and then. They would buy them a new tee shirt or maybe a new toy. Once, my daughter got a new pair of shoes that would light up when she walked! My daughter really felt like royalty when she went to Wichita with one of the Fairy Godmothers for a shopping trip and was ble to go to a speicalty boutique. Would you believe that she came home with a shirt that had her name painted on it? I was so amazed to think that they would do such gracious things for my children over and over again."

"I was so amazed...they were not family...why did they care so much? You see, what these two women did for me was much more than the gifts that they gave to my children. They gave me hope. They taught me gratitude. They kept my heart from turning to stone. I was blessed. I am blessed. I want to share these wonderful blessings. Will YOU join me?"

This is what spurred the creation of...
WELLINGTON FAIRY GODMOTHER PROJECT

How can you be blessed by the Wellington Fairy Godmother Project?

Purchase a complete outfit (clothes, shoes, socks, hair stuff) for either and elementary aged boy or girl and drop it off at Lincolen Elementary or Wal-Mart in the designated drop off boxes by Monday, May 18th.

The waving of the wand (a.k.a. distribution of the outfits to single parents & children) will be on Wed., May 20th @ First United Methodist Church. It will be set up so the children will be able to "go shopping"!
Please help us in making this a successful event in which we can hopefully have many more!!

Let the blessings begin!
